"We arrived at the DENFAB offices January 2020, not understanding Spanish and completely bewildered. We were welcomed with good coffee and a receptionist who could speak English. The documents that we completed before our arrival was used to create a Panamanian company for us, and we were accompanied to the bank to open a bank account. We left our passports with DENFAB and went on a tour of Panama while they were working on our documents. A few days later we came back, got our Temporary Residence cards and passports and left for South Africa. We planned to come back to Panama in six moths time but Covid stopped us. Denfab reassured us that they would arrange for a resolution. We came back to Panama August 2021 feeling a bit worried with our Temporary cards that expired, but we had a friendly reception. We then made an appointment with DENFAB to get our Permanent Residence, we were picked up at our hotel, transported to Immigration where a DENFAB employee waited for us. He took our passports while we waited, 20 minutes later he called us, took us to a cubicle where they asked us for an electronic signatures and they took our photos. Our Permanent Residence Cards were printed there and then and we left feeling very welcome and proud to be part of Panama. Well done and thank you DENFAB”
